Biography
Katie Reimer is an emerging American concert pianist with broad interests as both a soloist and collaborative musician.  She has devoted a considerable amount of time to the study and performance of modern music, most recently coaching with the prominent composers Halim El-Dabh, Malcolm Peyton and Mohammed Fairouz.  Reimer performed a full program of solo piano and vocal music by these composers in February, 2008, in Higginson Hall at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA, and March, 2008, at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, NY.

In addition to performing at numerous venues in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Michigan and Colorado, Reimer has performed internationally in Austria (Vienna), Lithuania (Kaunas), and Sweden (Stockholm).  In August, 2007, she performed a solo piano recital in Kaunas, Lithuania, consisting of a unique program that included Beethoven's Piano Sonata in E Major, Op. 109, with Mohammed Fairouz's Piano Sonata, "Reflections on Exile," a piece she has championed by performing in numerous venues since giving the premiere last spring. She is interested in presenting intelligent programs that encourage thoughtful reflection on the development of the musical language.
